Reimbursement for Lost Wages

This provision applies to employees who can not work because their place of employment is closed due to either physical damage to the building, or loss of power or water in the building.

 Claims can be made for the two-week period from September 15-28.  Those affected should call in the claim and report the number of hours of wages that were lost due to Hurricane Ike during the two- week period noted above. 

 To file a claim on their own behalf, employees should call (800) 939-6631.

Employers may file a mass claim for all affected employees by calling (512) 463-2999 or (866) 367-1332 or online at www.texasworkforce.org.  If filing online, click the orange box for “Businesses and Employers.”  Then click “Unemployment, Labor Law and Appeals,” and finally click “Mass Claims Process.”  Follow the instructions and complete the Excel spreadsheet via the link at the bottom of the page.
