   Pirsch & Mills LLP Merger

Dec. 31Pirsch & Mills LLP, founded in Houston in 1994 by Robert Mills and the late John Pirsch, merges with Briggs & Veselka Co.  Robert Mills and Daniel Schomer, current partners, along with three associates joined the Briggs & Veselka Co. staff.

"A decision like this takes a lot of consideration. But we quickly saw that Briggs & Veselka Co. fosters a culture that is unique in the CPA industry and we are excited about this new partnership," said Mills.

Along with Briggs & Veselka Co.’s rapid growth, the merger resulted in an expansion of its office space. The firm already occupied 20,000 square feet on the 7th floor of 6575 West Loop South, but recently made room for growth on the sixth floor, adding about 7,000 more square feet of work space.

Briggs & Veselka's previous acquisitions included Howard Startzman & Co. in 2001 and a merger with Cantrell & Co. in 2000.
