John has more than 30 years of experience providing comprehensive audit services to clients in the financial services, maritime, and oil and gas industries, among others. Prior to joining Briggs & Veselka in 1982, John had more than four years experience with Arthur Young & Company in Houston, Texas. He established and provides oversight of audit quality control procedures for the firm. John serves on the Texas Society of CPA’s Peer Review Committee and has conducted various peer, quality, and consulting reviews of other CPA practices in Texas as well as other states.

John helps many middle-market privately held companies either obtain financing from financial institutions or get better terms that are more helpful to them. He also focuses on increasing their company profits by recommending revenue enhancements and cost-cutting or potential tax savings ideas.

He has served the Association for Retarded Citizens of Fort Bend County (ARC) as an advisor to the Board of Directors. John has assisted the community by providing free accounting services to the not-for-profit organization, Ballet Folklorico. He is a former member of the Sugar Land Exchange Club and a former board member of TMA Houston. Currently, John serves on the Advisory Board of the Richmond State School. He also serves as a board member for the Houston City Club.

John has CPA designations in both Texas and Nebraska. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and its Houston Chapter.

John earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Nebraska and an M.P.A. from the University of Texas.
