Kevin Chesser, CPA, has joined the firm as an audit shareholder. His in-depth understanding of emerging and middle market public companies enables him to provide outstanding audit and consulting services.

Kevin’s 22-year career includes more than a decade at a Big Four accounting firm and serving as the Controller of a publicly-held company. Drawing on his technical skills and business acumen, Kevin offers great insight to the management teams of his clients. He is skilled at producing financial reports that “tell the story of a company”. Kevin’s vast network in the business community enables him to identify resources for his entrepreneurial clients which have significant impact on the growth of their businesses. Kevin successfully:

• Assisted a retail chain of 14 stores with obtaining financing at a critical juncture, after which the company thrived and grew to more than 70 locations
• Lead the efforts of a $6 billion publicly-owned bank in response to significant restatement of its financial statements and SEC investigation; conducted modeling and forecasting of strategic alternatives as an advisor to the company’s board of directors
• Worked with a consumer finance company in producing compliant financial statements used to obtain financing and raise additional equity; the company doubled its business in 3 years

Kevin collaborates with his clients to help ease the rigorous demands of finance and accounting so they can focus on operations and growth.

Kevin received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Lamar University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and its Houston Chapter. Kevin serves on the American Lung Association Leadership Council. He is a former member of the Lamar University Foundation Board and is presently an advisor to Lamar’s Department of Accounting.
