Laura believes that maintaining relationships with her clients and developing additional professional skill sets is an important aspect to the success of her career.

She has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting. Laura’s attention to client service and commitment to quality makes her a valuable resource to any private or non-profit company. She provides audit, review and other consultative services to businesses and their owners in a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, construction, maritime, broker-dealers, ESOP-owned companies and fixed base operators (FBOs).

Laura is in charge of the firm’s internal quality control system and performs peer reviews of other CPA firms in Texas. Prior to joining the Briggs & Veselka team 16 years ago, she was an audit manager at Price Waterhouse in Houston, and she was previously with other CPA firms in New Orleans, Louisiana and Cleveland, Ohio.

She earned her B.S.B.A. from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from the University of New Orleans. Laura is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (AICPA), Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the East End Chamber of Commerce, the East End Commerce Club, the ESOP Association and the Women’s Finance Exchange.

In addition, she is a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is serving on its 2010 Light the Night Leadership Committee. Laura is also an avid member of the Business and Professional Women’s Breakfast Club of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston. When she’s not busy at work, Laura enjoys spending time and traveling around the world with her husband and three children.
