Houston-based CPA firm Briggs & Veselka Co. LLC (Briggs & Veselka) has advanced in the national rankings of CPA firms, according to 2019 data compiled by Accounting Today magazine. Last year, the firm made it to Inside Public Accounting’s top 100 list for the first time entering at #98, and its dynamic growth in 2019 propelled the firm to the 91st place in Accounting Today’s rankings this year. That 29% growth in 2019 recognized Briggs & Veselka as a Pacesetter in Growth, the second highest amongst all firms under $100M in the US.
“We are so proud of earning these designations from the premier publication in our industry,” said Briggs & Veselka Managing Partner Sheila Enriquez. “We were able to achieve such significant growth last year because of our associates’ commitment to excellence and their extraordinary dedication to serving our middle-market clients,” she added. The firm earned a client satisfaction score that was three times the industry average last year, a trend that has been consistent for the past three years. Briggs & Veselka has also been a Houston Best Places to Work for the past 12 years.
“Given the significant changes in the industry, and the consolidation among middle-market-centric firms, the ability for Briggs & Veselka to continue such remarkable growth is a testimony to the firm’s vision and leadership,” said industry expert Allan Koltin. “What’s also remarkable is that as the firm has grown, Sheila and her management team have remained absolutely committed to preserving the culture of the firm, which is the key to success in client retention, client relevance, and the firm’s ability to attract and retain top talent,” Koltin added.
The firm’s growth was both acquisitive and organic. Its go-to-market approach has evolved to an industry-centric strategy that brings audit, tax and consulting solutions to clients in the industries that drive the Texas economy.
“As we grow in size and capabilities, we will not stray from our core values and from our dedication to helping our clients with the evolving challenges they face in the middle market space. In doing so, we also provide new and different ways for our people to thrive personally and professionally, so it’s truly a virtuous circle of success between our associates and our clients,” Enriquez added.
