Accounting industry veteran Bill Penczak has joined the firm as Managing Director of Practice Development. Penczak will be responsible for the firm’s organic growth and oversee the marketing and business development functions for the firm, working closely with the firm’s management team and partner group.
“We’ve achieved dynamic growth in the past decade, and our plan is to ramp that up even further,” said firm Managing Partner John Flatowicz. “Bill’s reputation in the national accounting industry, along with the tangible results he’s produced, gives us confidence that our growth will be even more significant. We pride ourselves on an entrepreneurial environment, and Bill has demonstrated a bias towards action that will fit well at Briggs & Veselka.”
Penczak previously was in senior level practice development positions with Big 4 and national accounting firms, including as Global Chief Marketing Officer of a publicly traded consulting firm. As an industry market development thought leader, he has been nominated twice as Marketer of the Year from the Association for Accounting Marketing, was co-editor of the AAM magazine, Growth Strategies, and founder of a national accounting CMO peer group.
“It’s exciting to join a truly entrepreneurial firm like Briggs & Veselka that has earned such an excellent reputation among their employees, clients and peers. I believe the firm is at an inflection point in its growth trajectory, and I am confident my hands-on experience will be of value to the partner group as they build on their 43 years of success,” said Penczak.
Penczak serves on the board of Incarnate Word Academy; is a pro-bono consultant to Family Houston, a local non-profit; and has been an adult leader in the Boy Scouts for the past 12 years. Bill and his family live in Sugar Land, Texas.
