John Flatowicz, Managing Partner of Houston-based Briggs & Veselka, has been appointed to serve on the Americas board of one of the world’s largest independent accounting networks, HLB International. As a board member, Flatowicz will collaborate with other board members for professional education, thought leadership, leading practices, and cross-firm referrals.

“It is a true honor to be named to this position,” said Flatowicz, who joined Briggs & Veselka in 1982 and has served as Managing Partner for the past seven years. “Our middle market clients are increasingly expanding into new geographies domestically and globally, and my ability as a board member to help foster opportunities and insights for our clients, our firm, and BKR member firms will be invaluable,” he added.

“John has done a magnificent job of growing Briggs & Veselka while preserving its unique culture, and we look forward to his collaboration with BKR on a national platform,” said Karen Brenneman, Americas Chair of HLB International. “His energy and insight will continue to build our member firms, and in turn, the entire network,” she added.

Flatowicz’s board term will last for two years. Briggs & Veselka professionals are already active in the network, working with the International Tax and Business Valuation working groups, as well as active participation in professional development initiatives of the network.
